Day 8 in The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse-relationships

Today’s Cleansing Affirmation:

Today I am starting off with your homework right off the bat. Write this affirmation down 3 times in your journal, in the morning to set the tone for your day. Then say the affirmation out loud 5 times as well. While you are saying the affirmation out loud, picture yourself surrounded by lots of family and friends who you love, and even those family members who cause you stress.

After you have completed this section of your homework, write down 5 qualities you look for in a relationship, whether it be in a friendship, a family relationship, a loving relationship, a work relationship, etc. Try and be specific.

Now picture yourself surrounded by lots of family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. and picture them all with having these qualities and traits you look for in someone. Feel how joyful it feels to be around people who carry such positive, uplifting energy.

Throughout your day, visualize having lots and lots of relationships in your life that carry these qualities you admire. It should bring a smile to your face every time you picture yourself enveloped in such love.

Lastly, look over the qualities that you wrote down that you look for in a relationship and ask yourself if you carry those same qualities? Be honest with yourself. No one wants a nagging husband, boyfriend, friend, mother, daughter, son, brother, co-worker, boss, neighbor, etc….but then again, do you nag at any of them? Hopefully not, but this is a great way to keep ourselves in check and also a great way to improve ourselves in our relationships.

What we give out, we get back. We try to teach our kids this lesson often.

I heard a really cool saying on Oprah once, from one of her guests on her show. The saying is, “Please take responsibility for the energy you bring into this space.” This ‘request’ really hit home with me when I heard it…on so many levels. But what really woke me up when I heard this, was to first check in with myself and to pay attention to the energy I bring to others when I enter their space. Am I being an “Eeyore” or a “Tigger?” I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t care to hang out with an Eeyore. Life is just too short.

Today’s children’s affirmation: I am a good friend.
