Day 20 in The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse-love & appreciation

Today’s Cleansing Affirmation:

I APPRECIATE MY LIFE AND THE LOVING PEOPLE IN IT.

As you know Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Some people despise this day because they believe that it is only about having a significant other to love and to love them back. This is not what Valentine’s day is about…at least it’s not how I have ever viewed it.

Valentine’s Day for me is about expressing my love and appreciation for the people who are close to me in my life. This includes, my parents, my siblings, my children, my friends and neighbors. They are pure examples of love in the way they treat everyone around them. They are giving and loving people who are trying to make the world a better place. Valentine’s Day is just 1 of several days that I like to show my love and appreciation to the people in my life.

When we show appreciation for others, this creates a powerful vibration that connects us to our spirit and creates positive emotions for us. The more we show appreciation for someone or something in our life, the better we feel. The better we feel, the more joy in our life and thus, making us want to show more appreciation and love.

Showing appreciation for someone or something is a great way to catapult you into a better feeling, mood or emotion. The more we practice showing our appreciation for things in our life, the more we begin to see our life in a positive light, and our glass as half full rather than half empty. Getting into a good habit and routine of expressing your appreciation for things in you life, will only bring you more of those wonderful things you are appreciative of…like people, thoughtful gestures, or kind letters and beauty…everywhere you turn.

So let’s not wait until Valentine’s day to express our love and appreciation for someone. Let’s do it today. Even if we begin with just a few thoughts of who and what we are appreciative of in our life. We can start with being appreciative of simply the bed we sleep in that provides our body with the rest it needs, or the beautiful sunrise or even rain drops that nourish our earth. Then once we get the momentum from starting our day with thoughts of appreciation like that, we can take it a step further and write a loved one or a good friend a letter and tell them how much you appreciate them.

PS That is your homework for the day (the paragraph above)…along with writing today’s affirmation in your journal 5 times. Try to incorporate appreciation for something every day you wake up, while you’re in the shower, washing your face or brushing your teeth. Get crazy with it!
