Day 8 in The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse-relationships

Today’s Cleansing Affirmation:

ALL OF MY RELATIONSHIPS ARE HEALTHY, JOYFUL AND LOVING. I CHOOSE TO SURROUND MYSELF WITH POSITIVE, UPLIFTING PEOPLE.

Today I am starting off with your homework right off the bat. Write this affirmation down 3 times in your journal, in the morning to set the tone for your day. Then say the affirmation out loud 5 times as well. While you are saying the affirmation out loud, picture yourself surrounded by lots of family and friends who you love, and even those family members who cause you stress.

After you have completed this section of your homework, write down 5 qualities you look for in a relationship, whether it be in a friendship, a family relationship, a loving relationship, a work relationship, etc. Try and be specific.

Now picture yourself surrounded by lots of family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. and picture them all with having these qualities and traits you look for in someone. Feel how joyful it feels to be around people who carry such positive, uplifting energy.

Throughout your day, visualize having lots and lots of relationships in your life that carry these qualities you admire. It should … Read More »

Day 7 of The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse–relaxation

Today’s Cleansing Affirmation:

I AM AT PEACE WITH WHO I AM

My cute husband and I took a meditation and relaxation class together at a yoga studio last summer. Somehow, we both had gotten off course a bit with keeping our stress levels in check and this class just happened to fall into my lap. Once again, another confirmation on how life always supports me with what I need in every circumstance. (Remember, there are no “coincidences” in life).

Had I asked my husband to take this class with me a few months before he received a new promotion at work, he probably would have politely declined my invitation and written it off as another way us girls spend our money. Again, perfect timing for both of us revealed a class that we so desparately hoped would help dissolve our “stress.”

I had attempted meditation before on my own, but after taking this class, I was awakened to a whole new level of meditation. We started with some stretching, mainly of our torso area, to open up our chest and stomachs to allow our breathing to have the proper room needed to fully relax our bodies. (Who knew, … Read More »

Day 6 in The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse-finding your purpose

Posted on January 29th, by Ally in The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse. No Comments

Today’s Cleansing Affirmation:

I KEEP MY HEART OPEN AT ALL TIMES SO THAT IT MAY RECEIVE LOVE AND GUIDANCE.

It’s two o’clock in the morning and you’re lying in bed, with your eyes wide open, trying to figure out your life. You feel as though everyone else in the world is sleeping, but not you by-golly, you’re wide awake, wondering what you should be doing with your life. You stare at the ceiling wondering, ‘What is my purpose? How do I find it? What am I here to do?’

One thing I know for sure is that we are all here for a reason. Not one of us here breathing in this air, is here by accident. I believe we are here to learn our own personal lessons in this lifetime. We came from a divine love which created us to be one of a kind, one of 6 billion. Not one of us is a carbon copy. Isn’t that so refreshing to know that there isn’t a single person on this universe who is like you? This means YOU are special, custom-made, unique, and made to perfection with every single detail of your … Read More »

Day 5 of The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse–health

Today’s Cleansing Affirmation:

IT EXCITES ME TO TAKE CARE OF MY BODY THE WAY MY BODY TAKES CARE OF ME.

Think about this affirmation for a minute. Our bodies have always been doing exactly what they need to be doing in order for us to function and live. So why not truly start treating our bodies how they deserve to be treated in return?

We all know The Golden Rule, right? We actually have been singing this phrase quite often around our house lately with our boys. Hopefully, the “rule” is starting to absorb into their adorable little minds! Our 4 year old even made a sign with this “rule” on it in Sunday School this past weekend. It’s now hanging on his bulletin board in his room. I love how God has my back in my teaching moments with my kids! ; ) Synchronicity rocks!

If you already do treat your body well, this will be a cinch of a cleansing day for you. But if you’re like me, lately I’ve been reaching for those crackers as a snack rather than a handful of blueberries or carrots. So I’m thinking I’ll … Read More »

Day 4 of The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse–forgiveness

Posted on January 27th, by Ally in The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse. No Comments

Today’s Cleansing Affirmation:

I LOVINGLY FORGIVE AND RELEASE EVERYTHING IN MY PAST. I CHOOSE TO FILL MY LIFE WITH JOY.

I used to have such a hard time letting go of my past. Whether it be, my childhood house and the sadness I felt for so long from having to move from there, or letting go of my old beat up car that was my “first car” that carried so many fond memories. Until recently, I used to have a hard time letting go of what someone said or “did” to me. What I didn’t realize then, was that holding onto that sadness of moving from my most favorite house or the anger and hurt of how that person treated and betrayed me, was truly only hurting…me.

I’m not probably telling you anything you haven’t heard already. I’m simply reminding you that we are the only one who can change the way we feel. If we want to stay in the feeling of anger, resentment, sadness for what was or what used to be, than that is up to us. That is how most experiences will continue to feel for us…until we decide … Read More »

Day 3 of The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse–self acceptance

Posted on January 26th, by Ally in The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse. No Comments

Day 3 Affirmation:

I lOVE AND ACCEPT THE PERSON GOD MADE ME TO BE.

I was at our weekly “playdate” with my besties the other day (which usually falls on a Thursday afternoon and usually involves a glass of wine), when the topic of self-worth, self-love and what I call, self-acceptance came up.

We all had our stories about our insecurities and we talked about how challenging it can be for children when they are being teased or bullied at school, whether they have self-worth or not. Our conversation only confirmed to me once again that we need to teach our children to love and accept themselves at a very early age.

This is not something that I feel can just be taught once and it works miraculously. This is something that I feel we can teach early on and then continue to work on it throughout our lives. However, if we help plant the seeds in our children early and often, that they ‘are perfect exactly the way God created them, they are God’s masterpiece, they are unique and there is not another being in this world like them,’ this at least helps build their self-worth, … Read More »

Day 2 of The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse–commitment

Posted on January 25th, by Ally in The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse. No Comments

Affirmation of the day:
THIS YEAR 2013, I AM MAKING A COMMITMENT TO MYSELF TO DO THE MENTAL WORK FOR CHANGE IN MY LIFE.

My husband read in the Wall Street Journal earlier this month about how something like 60% of people give up on their new year’s resolutions within 6 months. I related with the article, knowing I used to be one of those people. These last 5 or so years, my husband suggested I write goals for my new year, rather than basically coming up with unrealistic resolutions. Resolutions such as ‘lose 30 pounds, exercise daily, drink less” (red wine I hear is good for us though, right?) usually won’t make it past week 3 in our new year if we aren’t willing to make a mental change or mental commitment. And when we make commitments, it usually means we have to “show up.”

This is why I chose the above affirmation about “commitment” today. Rather than setting ourselves up for failure by taking on huge new year’s resolutions like “no more candy” or “exercise 5-6 times a week,” (when maybe exercise hasn’t ever been a part of our lives in the past & going … Read More »

Day 1 of The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse–change

Posted on January 24th, by Ally in The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse. No Comments

‘I AM OPEN AND WILLING TO CHANGE’

Ok, first thing is first. Write this affirmation down 10 times in your journal or Affirmation notebook right now. Actually, I don’t care where you write it, just writing it down a few times anywhere, is very powerful.

When we write an affirmation down about our life, we are affirming and creating what we want in our life. The more we write something down, the more our subconscious and conscious mind takes it in and believes it and eventually, knows it.

Let me tell you a quick story.

I have a low pain tolerance. I am in awe of my mom and childhood friend, Melissa who have high pain tolerances. This means, I feared child labor. My first child’s labor was awful and actually, the entire experience was just like I had imagined and feared it would be; awful. (See how my thoughts created my future on that one?)

By the time I became pregnant with my second child, I was just getting my feet wet on positive thinking, changing how I looked at life, and the fact that my thoughts actually created … Read More »

The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse

Posted on January 22nd, by Ally in The 21-day Affirmation Cleanse. 2 comments

Mmmmm…doesn’t any “cleanse” sound so refreshing to you? Every where I turn people are talking about some type of 21 day cleanse. Whether it is for nutrition, yoga, meditation, exercise, whathaveyou. I have listened to these cleanses that some of my brave friends are partaking in to some degree and I am inspired by them to say the least. You go with your “new” self, girl! I have to admit, I was a cats whisker away from signing up at our gym for the 21 day evolve cleanse. But, with a vacation to Mexico in my future in just a few weeks, I decided to be realistic with myself and just start watching what I eat a bit better these days. Maybe choose a salad over an enchilada when we go eat Mexican…right?

However, I am inspired to do SOMETHING great for my overall health and I do like a good (for me, realistic), challenge. So, I decided to truly challenge myself AND my kids and make my own 21 day cleanse (up)….and of course, I made it about affirmations! Duh,….what else????

What does it consist of you ask?? Cleansing my thoughts, … Read More »
